Bangkok =)))
Hey peeps..=D its been a long while since i updated..sorry lah...cos the thought of myself sitting down just to type a long entry puts me off=D. A far cry from the days when i had just started out yea? =P
Updates on xmas and my trip to Bangkok. I rotted at home on Xmas eve cos the idea of squeezing with hundreds of thousands of people in orchard road just doesnt appeal to me..and the reason i choose to go out on Xmas was because that I thought people counting down on the eve would eventually doze off in the morning and sleep thru Xmas..but apparently i was wrong =X. Met eugene for a movie with his friends at night..dressed up in a tube and mini skirt..but i decided that that was too hostess-sy so i covered up my top with a yellow half cardigan, i decorated my eyes with yellow and pink eye shadows..i like pastel colours leh..but somehow i don't realli look good in it; nudes, browns, blues and greens suits me better..haiz, long to upload my pics to e com taken with my beloved phone, i realli must get one of the bluetooth usb devices soon. Narnia was realli good..peepes..go watch, its worth it.. Ate at pepper lunch..its a classier and tastier version of foodcourt teppanyaki. The steak is good..dont go for e curry beef..meats are thin and juiceless..love the honey brown sauce..goes well with my rice and meat..garlic sauce goes well with my tao gei =D. I shall try the hamburger and salmon sets e next time. Hee. And guess wat?? My camera actualli has flash!! meaning that i can take pics in the uber dark cinema! Gene was damn embarrassed cos i keep gushing over e cam and taking pics with him(i forced him to) with the flash! grinz* in e cinema. Haha. And he got me Bobbi Brown's gel eyeliner in espresso ink!! He's e best =D. I chose the pressie with him while waiting for our friends to come.
Oh, and i got a uber yummylicious eye and cheek holiday palette complete with brushes from my beloved Jing and TML!! I was surfing thru stila's webby yest in an attempt to find out how it works.=D I think Jing must have surf thru flowerpod and heard abt the raves for this palette. The packaging really ia appealing to me, ahhhh, girly fetishes. =) Thanks dear cousin and fren=D
Next, on my updates of my Bangkok trip. The things in there are really cheap! Especially on transportation and food. If u people ever go to bangkok, u should eat at the roadside stalls instead of foodcourts or restaurants..the food is cheap and really delicious..haha. I realli love their mango stickky rice..for about 25-30 baht u get a whole mango sliced up with some sticky rice topped with coconut milk..heavenly! For our main meals weate alot of beef noodles and mixed zhu zha soup..it has duck's blood in it!! omygod..i realli missed pig's blood..Sg doesnt have it now =( . They oso sell those meat kebabs..we tried the grilled squid..they have sweet and sour chilli sauce to go with that..onli 10baht(sgd 50 cents) for each stick! yummyyyy. And wat else...their fried sweet potato dough balls..it taste like you tiao..very nice..and lots of other stuffs..strawberry, apple flavoured waffles(tastier than sg, its richer and thicker), birdsnest..it tastes like e real thing but we were doubtful because of its price. It costs onli 4 dollars sgd! Their jackfruits are good and cheap too..1 dollar for like 30 seeds. Haha. Love their Lays potato chips in seaweed lfavour..Sg doesn have them ((: . Pattaya i think..is nice too..its some sticky glass noodles fried with tomato sauce. We oso saw alot of little kids selling loveletters..i dont think they go to school given the poverty that they are in. =( poor things. Onli 10 baht for a packet..crispy and sweet. Love the oradside teh with milk and bandung with milk too..its cheap at 50 cents for a large packet.Oyah..their drinks comes in those retro glass bottles instead of cans u know..so pretty!=D
Next to the clothes and accessories=D. My favourite part of the trip!=D We bought super uber cheap and pretty earrings, handphone accesorries in Chinatown. Its pretty interesting cos they set up their accessories in the daytime and when e day ends, they keep their wares and the food stalls take their place. We went again at night in hope of buying more cheap earrings but to our suprise we cant find the same stalls at the spots that we bought from hours ago.=D amazing yea? We ended up eating at the food stalls. Visited the Pratunum centre and market in the morning. The clothers in the market are pretty cheap..especially if u buy them wholesale..meaning more than one piece.. i got 2 von dutch shorts at sgd 4 dollars each and a super pretty pink half cardigan at sgd 8 dollars at the pratunum centre.(somewhere along the stretch of stalls) many people were crowding around the wholesalers, they lay their goods on the ground...a boxers for gene at like 2.50 sgd. My aunt got cute flintstones tees for my little cousins at 6 dollars each. There are oso stalls at night along the streets of pratunum. I got a nice puma bag for sgd 12 dollars..while my cousin got a red addidas bag for e same price..really pretty and cheap bags. We went into Indra square and that was where i got my betty boop green tee =D at 9 dollars sgd. My favourite place to shop was MBK and siam square. Its linked together but an overhead bridge on the outside. Heard many negative comments about mbk because of its prices, But i find that it holds the trendiest and nicests clothers there..the price differents are onli around 20 baht? for tee-shirt wise. I got all of my abercrombie tees from one of the stalls at the 3rd floor. Nice and cheap..6.50 sgd for one tee. Siam square has realli cheap denim jeans and skirts..ard 10 dollars for a pair of nice jeans and 8 dollars for a skirt.. i got one with green threadings=D. The sizes run small though..my uber thin cousin wears m size can u imagine that..i got a large sized jeans. My cousins got doggie clothes from there as well, they were like very xing fen when they saw the clothes LOL. =D Onli 2 dollars sgd each..the sales item. We saw a batman dog outfit!!it costs 380 baht i think..not realli ex right. I think its cheap in fact. And i finalli got my guess watch in one of the watch shops in Siam square!! We were like hunting high and low for it in Suan Lum bazaar..so damn embarrrassing..we went to the stall thrice!! The guy quoted me 650 baht, when we walked away without even bargaining, he quoted me 300 baht, i was so tempted to get it, but my cousin was telling me she saw it retailing at like 200 baht somewhere in MBK..after walking thru the night bazaar watch stalls..some were out of their minds..we had one stall qoting us 850 baht for the same watch. =X We then went back to see if we could haggle even more bahts off that watch..but we couldnt. I gave up and we went look at doggies instead! Saw a super cute yorkshire puppy..stayed for a pretty long time just to watch the cutie prance roll around his playpen. =)
It was a realli fullfilling experience for me this time! A real eye-opener to see all different kinds of stalls selling their different wares and foods. They had taxis in orange, pink, yellow..all sorts of birhgt colors=D and the best thing is that its realli cheap..a 40 min ride cost like 60-70 baht..sgd 2 plus dollars..we sat on a tuk tuk too..=D its a kind of taxi-like scooter..something like a trishaw except that the guy travels on a scooter instead of a bicycle. Many other things that i'm too lazy to comment on..like the boat ride on chao praya river, in the midst of the ride, the boat stopped for us to visit the snake farm, its outside bangkok, somewhere along the river..two guys were like carrying a super fat venom snake and walking around the circle circumference of the tent to show us and when it came to me, one of the guys dropped the lower half of the super huge snake onto my lap!! I was like "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"!!!! Think the guy wasnt paying much attention to what he was doing, haiz..so scary!! everyone around me was like shrinking away from meee!! ahhh. poor me. He then hastily tried to lift that rubbery fat body off me. Sweat* Scary leh.
Shall go again the next time if i have the time and money. yay. Dont think that i will shop much in sg after this trip cos BK is just so much cheaper than the stuff in Singapore. =))
